NOLA-PS Superintendent & State Superintendent of Education to Tour NOLA-PS Schools Following Hurricane IDA

WHAT:

NOLA Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Henderson Lewis, Jr. will host State Superintendent of Education Dr. Cade Brumley as they tour NOLA-PS school buildings in the wake of Hurricane Ida. They will discuss reopening schools and Districtwide needs during the present recovery.

WHY:

NOLA-PS and school leaders have assessed the condition of its school buildings and are preparing to welcome students back to class. Dr. Brumley's visit presents an opportunity to share Districtwide needs after Hurricane Ida with the state Department of Education; to discuss federal programs that could aid the recovery of the NOLA-PS community; and to present the public with a general schedule for restart of school operations.
