Community meetings announced.
(New Orleans – August 28, 2023) — NOLA Public Schools (NOLA-PS) is in the process of reimagining its strategic plan of action, NOLA-PS Evolve.
At the July OPSB Business Meeting, NOLA-PS Superintendent Dr. Avis Williams shared an executive summary of NOLA-PS Evolve. Community meetings are scheduled for sharing additional details and gathering feedback. It's important to note the proposed 2023-2028 Reimagined Strategic Plan of Action information is pending board approval and is subject to confirmation at the upcoming September Orleans Parish School Board meeting.
Families, teachers, staff, and community members are invited to attend the following meetings and share their valuable input:
Strategic Plan Community Meetings:
- Mon., Aug. 28 @ 6 PM – Living School
- Wed., Sept. 6 @ 5:30 PM – Virtual
- Thurs., Sept. 14 @ 6 PM – Phillis Wheatley School
During the community meetings, Dr. Williams will dive deeper into the Strategic Plan of Action's four key commitments:
Commitment #1: Effective & Connected Communications
Our primary focus is fostering clarity, consistency, and transparency through all communications, while amplifying the voices of scholars, families, educators, and community stakeholders.
Commitment #2: High Quality Schools
Our aim is to provide a quality school environment that prioritizes the needs of the whole child.
Commitment #3: Student, Staff, and Community Wellbeing
We strive to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to drive the best outcomes for everyone involved.
Commitment #4: Operational Excellence
Following the community meetings, our aim is to ensure healthy and sustainable conditions for long-term viability.
