The Renewal Process
The renewal process is a routine evaluation during the last year of a charter The renewal process is based on a school's Renewal SPS. The Renewal SPS is the
school's contract to see if the school will receive another contract to continue
operating in the future. The renewal process is based on a school's SPRI (School
Performance Renewal Index) and what kind of growth it made with its students.
better of either the school's most recent SPS score or the average of its two most
recent SPS scores under the state's new accountability system. A school's
finances and organizational performance can also impact renewal.
All members of the community are welcome to attend a meeting to learn more about the renewal process that all charter schools must undergo when their contracts are nearing their end. Information on the meetings can be found below:
