OPSB Finishes 1st Round of Superintendent Candidate Interviews
New Orleans – March 11, 2022) — The Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB) completed its first round of virtual interviews with 15 candidates interested in becoming the next Superintendent of Schools for NOLA Public Schools (NOLA-PS). Board members voted unanimously to invite one or more of the candidates to move onto the next phase of the Superintendent search.
Out of courtesy for the candidates, OPSB will not announce which candidates will move on to the referencing phase of the process, until they have been contacted and notified.
This special meeting concludes the latest phase in selecting the next Superintendent after Dr. Henderson Lewis, Jr. announced in June that he would be stepping down at the end of the 2021-2022 school year.
A list of the candidates can be found by viewing the agenda in Board Docs: https://nolapublicschools.com/community/board-info/board-meeting-materials.
A profile of the position and a summary of community engagement can be found at the Superintendent Search website: https://nolasuperintendentsearch.com/.
